Our story
Lampton House was built in the 1700s and was originally called The Glebe. For over a century the house served as the parish vicarage.
From the 1950s the property operated a ‘bed and breakfast’ hotel until 1987 when it was extended and modernised to accommodate the present care facilities. The property now comprises three floors with 30 en-suite bedrooms.
Over the years notable residents of Lampton House have included Rev John Collinson, vicar of All Saints Church in Long Ashton from 1787–1794 but best known for his three-volume history of Somerset and Andrée Peel ("Agent Rose") the decorated member of the French Resistance during WWII who spent her final years at Lampton House before passing away there in 2010 at age 105.
“Mum is very well cared for by all the dedicated staff at Lampton House.”
